Gaming has changed from our good old computer screens to virtual reality form . But how far we are from augmented reality gaming ?
What is Augmented Reality ?
Augmented reality is the blending of virtual reality and real life, as developers can create images within applications that blend in with contents in the real world. With AR, users are able to interact with virtual contents in the real world, and are able to distinguish between the two. In simple words, if there is an the soldiers from the COD can be actually be in your backyard in Augmented Reality.
What is virtual reality?
Virtual reality is all about the creation of a virtual world that users can interact with. This virtual world should be designed in such a way that users would find it difficult to tell the difference from what is real and what is not. Furthermore, VR is usually achieved by the wearing of a VR helmet or goggles similar to the Oculus Rift.
So,how hard is Augmented reality gaming ? Already we have started to see AR titles such as Pokemon Go. But unlike VR gaming, developing AR games are a pretty tuff task. You have to consider and take every real location into account when developing a game.
But its not all that impossible. Soon there can be dedicated playing stations where a battlefield location is already set up and players can choose their side and fire with each other and virtual elements of the game.
Finally, AR gaming is potentially a dream for many of gamers, like how much would you pay for playing GTA V in your own backyard ? But it causes potential problems in the society, like Pokemon Go which has caused trouble to the public. AR gaming is not far away, but still we have to wait to see how far it goes.
